Having discovered the nature of reality - the existential horror of which I try to ignore - I have decided to finally set up a permeant base. While my capital ship is reasonably comfortable, having a place to call my own without all the other crew walking the corridors is extremely appealing after years of exploration.
The planet I have chosen as my home is in the Yihilia-Akyun IX system, which I have named "Andreana". It is a beautiful planet of mostly large seas sprinkled with numorus islands. There are some larger, continent-sized land masses as well. I have picked one of the smaller islands as my base's location. Actually, two islands, as I will have one as my residence and then another which is quite nearby that I plan to farm.
There is a large amount of fauna on Andreana, and I've enjoyed watching the various beasts wander the lands, fly through the skies and swim in the surprisingly warm waters of this planet. I've no plans at the moment to domesticate any of the animals, but we'll see how things go.
The flora is also very interesting. Red grass covers the ground, while beautful spire-like corals reach above the oceans' waters. Given the islands there are no great forests, but there are many clusters of large, strong looking trees, as well as very curiuous plants which float peacefully in the air. I do not think I will be left wanting for resources here.
I do plan to continue exploring, expecially the rest of this planet and the other planets in this system. I still have responsibilities away from Andreana, such as the colony I watch over. For the moment, however, I will concentrate on building my accomodations in these beautiful lands.
My journey continues...
