I've never been great at these "about me" things, but I shall try my best. ^_^

I'm originally from an Australian but moved to England in 2016. The plan was to only be here for two year while working, but I happened to meet my absolutley amazing wife, thus decide to stay.

My background is in creative art, illustration in particular. I've not created an art page here yet (it's on the to-do list), but if you'd like you can see some of work you can do so HERE. I was a teacher for six years, but now work "behind the scenes" in schools helping kids with special educational needs.

Over the last few years I've been trying to get a writing career off the ground. So far, I've writen written one book about the history of video game company SEGA, and I've a few fiction stories on the go. I also have two Substacks; SEGA Extra which acts as an extension of the book, and The Geekologist where I write about comics, video games and a few other subjects.As this website attests I'm a huge geek. I grew up on a healthy diet of comic books, SEGA video games, Tolkien and Doctor Who amoung other things. Geekdom runs in my family with my dad and uncle also being comic fans.

The name of the site, "Nice, Different, Unusual," is a referance to a line from the classic Aussie comedy series Kath & Kim. Seriously, if you've never seen it, check it out!
